Challenges

CASSI currently works with a series of legacy systems based on outdated technology platforms that are difficult to maintain. The main system is owned by a company that has not been able to meet the demands of evolution and the minimally viable term, in addition to offering resistance to integration processes with other platforms.

By operating in the supplementary health sector where the National Supplementary Health Agency, ANS, requires constant regulatory changes/adjustments, CASSI aims for a technological platform capable of responding to changes quickly, without prejudice to the business or regulation. Due to its membership nature, it offers additional benefits to those offered by other health insurance providers. This makes CASSI’s requirements different from the standard found on the market today.

CASSI faces the challenge of building a new technological platform, POC (CASSI Operational Platform), that is capable of facing the aforementioned challenges using a robust, scalable technological architecture based on the most modern standards and tools available on the market.

How do we help?

Mirante’s Project Development area is one of the factories involved in the POC project. Thanks to our efforts to undertake an effective partnership, we were the first factory to allocate staff at the CASSI customer’s premises and start development work.

The agile development process used in the project has allowed us to proactively remove impediments that eventually create obstacles for the development team. The high technical competence of our team has been a preponderant factor in the domain of the technologies used in the project.

Our team has effectively contributed to the optimization of the architectural patterns adopted at CASSI. With that, we have been able to finish sprints satisfactorily – reaching the expectations of success – and we are just waiting for the finalization of the configuration of the production environment by CASSI to carry out the implementation. In parallel, we have continued the construction of the other sprints of the project.

Results

First factory to deliver software in the standards required by CASSI; The effective application of SCRUM and other agile development practices were fundamental for the success of the first deliveries made, since we are in an environment with emerging software architecture and business processes in constant change;

Mirante received praise from the CASSI architecture team in the first code inspections carried out;

From a technical point of view, our deliveries exceeded CASSI’s expectations, so much so that many of our implementations were adopted as standard by the client’s architecture team and were even published on the project’s Wiki for use by other factories.
